MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to fly to Singapore for a working visit, where he is scheduled to meet with Singaporean Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, as well as business leaders in the country, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
In a statement on Tuesday, DFA Assistant Secretary Analyn Ratonel said the working visit from Oct. 7 to 11 aims to deepen the relationship between the two countries.
“This working visit is part of the country's initiative to deepen our ties with Singapore, expand our economic engagement, and advance our cooperation in sectors that will contribute to our country's development,” said Ratonel.
The working visit, Ratonel added, was crucial to expand the Philippines’ partnership with Singapore in several fields, including technology, the green economy, smart infrastructure, AI, renewable energy, and healthcare.
Marcos is set to be accompanied by Finance Secretary Frederick Go, Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque, and Presidential Communications Office Secretary Dave Gomez during his visit.
