
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. spoke with US President Donald Trump over the phone following U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s bilateral meeting with the former on Wednesday.
In a statement Thursday, Malacañang said the two leaders discussed the recent Ayungin Shoal incident that happened earlier this week.
Trump assured Marcos he will raise the latter's concerns during his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
