MARii case: institute says ready to cooperate with authorities

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) is ready to cooperate with any relevant authorities following the prosecution of its former chief executive officer (CEO) under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.

MARii in a statement today said its management under its newly appointed CEO Azrul Reza Aziz and the board of directors will uphold, as well as emphasise, the aspects of integrity and good governance in every level of administration.

“All MARii’s departments and officers practice transparency, enforcement and empowerment of good governance and will not compromise or tolerate corruption or abuse of power,” the statement read.

It said MARii's current objective is to strengthen Malaysian automotive industry competitiveness at the national and international levels in line with the National Automotive Policy 2020.

Earlier today, MARii former CEO Datuk Madani Sahari was charged at the Shah Alam sessions court with one count of receiving a bribe of RM5 million two years ago. – Bernama, April 14, 2023
