MARIKINA City announced on Friday the launch of its four-day Arts, Crafts, and Coffee Festival at the Marikina Freedom Park, highlighting local artists, creative entrepreneurs, and the city’s growing coffee culture.

Mayor Marjorie Ann Teodoro led the kickoff ceremony on Thursday, alongside Marikina 1st District Rep. Marcy Teodoro, saying the festival honors the city’s homegrown talents while giving small businesses a platform to reach residents and visitors.

“Last year, we did our coffee fest. It felt cut short because a typhoon hit. That is why we immediately brought it back. And because it is Arts Month, we are joined by different excellent artists in our city,” Mayor Teodoro said.

The festival, themed “Art in Every Pour,” features live music, spoken word performances, art and drawing tutorials, and coffee-tasting sessions led by local baristas. Vendors are showcasing handmade crafts, accessories, and specialty coffee blends, giving visitors a chance to experience the full scope of Marikina’s creative scene.

City officials said the event also marks the start of a series of activities aimed at fostering community engagement and deeper connections among residents. Coffee shops will open daily at 8 a.m., and arts and crafts booths start at 10 a.m., with the festival running until Feb. 22.

The local government encouraged residents and visitors to support local businesses, noting that such initiatives help grow the city’s arts and coffee industries. The festival also aligns with the nationwide celebration of National Arts Month every February under Proclamation 683, which recognizes the role of arts in shaping national identity, cultural awareness, and creative excellence.

Organizers said the festival provides both entertainment and learning opportunities, allowing attendees to explore Marikina’s arts scene, interact with artists, and discover unique products that reflect the city’s creative spirit. The city hopes the event will strengthen the community’s appreciation for local talent and inspire continued support for small businesses.
