The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) surpassed its mid-year benchmarks, recording an 82 percent annual revenue realization and a 97 percent client satisfaction rating.
Marina exceeded its H1 2026 targets in frontline services, revenue, digital transformation, and regulatory reforms during its Mid-Year Performance Assessment and Planning Conference (MYPAPC).
In the first semester, Marina issued 601,256 ship certificates and processed 314,707 credentials for maritime professionals, including 282,297 Certificates of Proficiency, 21,506 Certificates of Competency, and 10,904 GMDSS certificates. The agency certified 14,698 Filipino seafarers to international standards and 2,167 stakeholders completed safety training. The operating fleet grew to 2,097 vessels, exceeding the target by 10.5 percent. Digital outputs reached 1,278 Special Orders and 1,678 MeCAV transactions.
To manage standards, Marina established the Office of the Deputy Administrator for Education, Training, and Certification (ODAETC). The agency also submitted eight policy proposals to the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) under the National Policy Regulatory Management System.
The ₱705.68 million revenue was generated from 253,224 surveyed clients across nationwide offices.
"Exceeding our targets is not the finish line—it is our motivation to deliver even better services for every Filipino who depends on the maritime sector," Marina Administrator Sonia Malaluan said. For the rest of 2026, the agency will target maritime safety, digital transformation and regulatory improvements.
