The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) has officially announced that all new appointments for the Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) and Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) must be processed through the eGovPH mobile application effective Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
This transition is part of a strategic effort to enhance transparency and efficiency in online transactions while actively curbing the influence of unauthorized fixers. By centralizing these services within the national government's "super-app," the agency aims to provide a more secure and streamlined experience for Filipino maritime professionals.
Despite the shift to the new platform, MARINA emphasized that seafarers who have already secured bookings through the old system will not be inconvenienced. All appointments previously made via the Online Appointment System (OAS) website remain valid, and those individuals are not required to register again or migrate their existing schedules to the mobile app. The agency confirmed that the new mandate applies specifically to new applicants and those seeking fresh appointment slots from May 13 onwards.
To navigate the new system, applicants must first download the eGovPH app from Google Play, the App Store, or AppGallery. After downloading, users are required to create and verify their accounts to ensure security. Once the profile is active, applicants should navigate to the list of National Government Agencies, search for "MARINA OAS," and input their specific appointment details.
The process concludes with a digital confirmation and payment step, after which the applicant must report to their chosen MARINA Office or Processing Center either exactly on time or one hour prior to their scheduled slot. CIH
