Canadian prime minister Mark Carney congratulated Nasa’s Artemis II crew on their successful lunar mission and invited them to Ottawa.
“ I want to extend the invite on behalf of all Canadians to come to Canada. Certainly come to Ottawa,” he said.
Pointing to the viral Nutella moment from the recent Artemis II livestream, Carney joked with the Canadian astronaut, “ I just wonder, a lot of Canadians just want, one point of reassurance that the preference is for maple syrup over Nutella on your pancakes in the morning.”
The crew broke into laughter following the light-hearted moment.
Crew member Jeremy Hansen gave his assurance, "Absolutely, sir.”
