Southampton will not be appointing Leeds United's sacked coach Jesse Marsch.
The American was thought be heading to the St. Mary's Stadium club, days after losing his job at Leeds.
However, The Mirror and other sources state that after talks collapsed at the 11th hour, the deal is off. A deal only to June left the American unimpressed.
The Saints will now be on the lookout for a replacement for Nathan Jones, who lost his job after the weekend.
Meanwhile, Leeds have still not settled on a permanent successor to Marsch either.
The Elland Road club have three assistant coaches in charge at present.
