
KOTA MARUDU: Two hundred students and teachers of SMK Langkon welcomed the arrival of the 2022 Malaysian Family Merdeka Journey Convoy.
The fourth stop of the convoy also saw colourful display of the Jalur Gemilang.
SMK Langkon principal Ahmad Mehunah later flagged off the convoy to travel to the next destination. He earlier signed the convoy visitors’ book.
Earlier, the convoy was flagged off in Kota Marudu by the District Officer, Alexander Yong at the community hall.
On the ninth day of the its itinerary, the convoy which spent the night in Kudat on Wednesday was flagged off by the Kudat District Officer, Bakri Nanun. The convoy went round Kudat town before making a brief stopover at the Matunggong sub-district office. After travelling 1,700km, the convoy was hosted by Matunggong Assemblywoman, Datuk Julita Mojungki at the Matunggong sub-district office.
Julita said the tour by the convoy served as an opportunity for local residents to feel the Merdeka mood and be more patriotic.
