A new villain is making his way into the "Marvel Rivals" roster as Gorr the God Butcher prepares to wreak havoc in Season 10.
NetEase Games launched a new gameplay trailer showcasing Gorr as the latest Duelist Hero. He can relentlessly execute enemies and absorb their flesh, transforming them into Black Berserkers. These Black Berserkers function as independent, AI-controlled enemies in battle, similar to Magik's Minions.
Gorr wields both the Necrosword and a scythe, with the latter giving him greater attack range. The Necrosword also allows him to quickly traverse the battlefield.
His ultimate ability temporarily empowers the Necrosword, allowing it to deal devastating amounts of damage.
Gorr will be added to the roster on September 11.
Loki no longer playable in some modes
Prior to Gorr's inclusion in "Marvel Rivals," Marvel and gaming fans noticed that Loki was no longer selectable in certain game modes.
Loki has been disabled in Quick Play, Arcade, Practice vs. AI, and 18 vs. 18, although he remains available in the game's social hubs and competitive modes.
NetEase later revealed that Loki had been "killed off" in "Marvel Rivals" by Gorr himself in a cinematic trailer.
The God of Mischief's "death" will be part of Season 10's narrative, with discussions suggesting that other heroes could meet the same fate in later seasons.
What's new in Season 10
Season 10 will introduce a brand-new map called God Quarry, described as a graveyard of gods. It will be available on September 24.
Pajama-themed skins are also coming for several characters, including Cloak & Dagger, Jeff the Land Shark, Magneto, Luna Snow, Mantis, Rogue, and Daredevil.
A brand-new Jeff's Dream Eater event will also launch following the September 17 update, granting players matching costumes and other cosmetic rewards.
