The wait is finally over, and Marvel Studios used Disney’s D23 to drop the bomb we’ve all been anticipating: the official cast list for the MCU’s X-Men reboot.
Scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2028, under the direction of Thunderbolts‘ Jake Schreier, this line-up brings a fresh, unexpected mix of rising stars and heavy hitters to usher mutants into the mainline universe.

Here is the breakdown of who is stepping into the Xavier Institute:
-Sadie Sink as Jean Grey: Reprising her role after making waves in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sink anchors the team as the iconic telepath.
-Kit Connor as Cyclops: The Heartstopper star takes on the mantle of Scott Summers, leading the team with major main-character energy.
-Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier: The Girls actor steps into the wheelchair to play the mutant visionary himself.
-Samara Weaving as Emma Frost: Bringing her sharp presence to the White Queen.
-Inde Navarrette as Rogue: Obsession‘s breakout talent joins the main lineup to give Rogue a modern spin.
-Maya Boyd as Storm: The Broadway star brings theatrical gravitas to the mistress of elements.
-Adam Driver as Mister Sinister: Playing Nathaniel Milbury/Mister Sinister, Driver adds serious villain prestige to the project.
Noticeably absent from the roster are Wolverine and Magneto. With Marvel seemingly holding off on recasting Logan post-Hugh Jackman and skipping the classic Xavier vs. Magneto clash for now, the story seems poised to chart a unique course through X-Men lore. It’s a bold roster that balances fresh talent with seasoned powerhouse acting, setting up high expectations for 2028.
