MALACCA: The mass circumcision programme organised during the school holidays can be a platform to strengthen unity among the multi-racial community in the country.

Duyong Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmi Abdul Halem said this is because the process of understanding and learning the culture of other races needs to be done through various methods and approaches.

“For example is the circumcision programme today. We have eight volunteers from the Chinese and Indian communities, as well as performances by these two communities.

“The presence of people from various races can change the society’s perception about circumcision, today we explain and make people understand the process and its connection with health,“ he told reporters at a mass circumcision programme at Kompleks Japerun Duyon, Semabok here today.

Also present was Kota Malacca Member of Parliament Khoo Poay Tiong.
