Massive beef recall at highest risk level over missed import inspection

  • Florida-based supplier Corte Argentino USA is recalling nearly 30,000 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina after it skipped mandatory U.S. reinspection.
  • The recalled boneless beef products were distributed to retailers and distributors in Florida and Texas.
  • The affected items were produced between May 15 and May 20 with use-by or freeze-by dates ranging from September 15 to September 20.
  • No illnesses have been reported, but health officials urge consumers not to eat the meat and to either throw it away or return it.
  • This marks the second major U.S. meat recall in recent months resulting from products entering the country without proper import checks.
