Massive Queues Outside Apple Store TRX as iPhone 17 Hits Shelves

A crowd of hardcore Apple enthusiasts swelled in the early hours of the morning at The Exchange TRX. You guessed it—they were outside the glass-panelled doors of the Apple Store, awaiting their turn to collect the iPhone 17.

In case you missed it, Apple’s newest flagships officially hit the shelves today, just a week after pre-orders began on 12th September. The queue you’re seeing here is for those who have pre-ordered the phones and are waiting to pick up their orders.

The iPhone’s first-day availability is often a huge event, with many standing in line hours before the shutters even lift. In fact, the Apple Store at TRX extended its opening hours from 8 AM to 10 PM—just for today—to attend to the crowd. Usually, the store begins operations at 10 AM.

Here’s where we should also mention that while the demo units of the iPhone 17 line-up are on display—and you’re more than welcome to peruse them at your convenience—one of the staff members did mention that walk-in purchases are unavailable today. If you’re planning to head in, it looks like you’ll have to wait until stocks are replenished, at least at the Apple Store at TRX.

If you’re still hellbent on being a first-day owner, authorised retailers such as Machines, Switch, and iTworld could still have units in stock—though you’ll probably need to act quickly. These phones, evidently, are hot stuff.

For what it’s worth, at the time of writing, the Machines outlet at Sunway Pyramid does have limited stock available for purchase.
