BATU PAHAT, July 7 — Voters in Johor need to give Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates a chance in the state election to enable them to prove that the manifesto launched a few days ago is not just “copy paste” as claimed by the opposing party.

Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said that if they do not vote for PH candidates in the Johor polls this Saturday, the party will not be able to fulfil all the resolutions contained in the PH manifesto.

“This manifesto is also from the people, we offer it after hearing the people’s voices…the people’s problems and we want to do it to overcome the people’s problems.

“We made this manifesto after so long in the field, listening to the people’s voices and listening to the people’s grievances,” he told reporters after the Johor Tour with Bang Mat programme in Rengit, yesterday.

Mohamad Sabu, who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, said that the PH manifesto for the Johor polls is an offer and anyone can write it but the most refreshing change is its implementation.

“God willing…should we win the Johor polls, things will start moving as early as the 12th of this month (July 12), we will make sure it works,” he said.

Asked to comment on the reception received by PH candidates and leaders in campaigns conducted in rural areas, he informed that it is now increasingly positive and receiving stronger reception from rural voters.

“It was different in 2018, the (PH) party was still not a household name in rural areas and villages in Johor, but it’s different now... if we walk around the markets or anywhere, there will definitely be people greeting us, and some even want to take pictures with us,” he said.

The polling day for the Johor polls is set for July 11, while the early voting day for security forces is today.
