KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) has been repositioned as a one-stop centre for exhibitions and cultural showcases as part of preparations for Visit Malaysia 2026.

The initiative, a collaborative effort between Tourism Malaysia and MaTiC, aims to introduce Malaysia’s rich heritage — spanning visual arts, handicrafts, food and cultural performances — to both domestic and international tourists.

It involves the participation of various national arts, culture and heritage agencies and is intended to strengthen Malaysia’s standing as a world-class cultural tourism destination.

Key highlights of the programme include heritage cuisine initiatives by the National Heritage Department, showcasing Malaysia’s diverse culinary traditions.

Visitors can also explore exhibitions of traditional handicrafts curated by Kraftangan Malaysia, as well as visual art displays featuring works by local artists from the National Art Gallery.

Cultural performances are presented by the National Department for Culture and Arts and Istana Budaya, while traditional music showcases feature instrumental performances by the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage.

Wellness elements are also included, with traditional massage demonstrations by the Association of Malaysian Spas, alongside exhibitions and rental services for traditional attire.

The exhibitions and sales activities are open to the public daily from 10am to 6pm, with scheduled cultural performances taking place throughout the day.
