Joel Matip insists Liverpool are making no excuses for their slow start to the season.
The Reds face Ajax at Anfield on Tuesday, just a week after a stunning 4-0 loss to Napoli in their opening Champions League group stage game.
And Matip says his teammates are focused on rectifying the result against Ajax.
"I don't want to make any excuses," Matip told a pre-match press conference.
"We play at Liverpool, and we want to play as much games as possible.
"It is not always comfortable this amount of games, especially for the international players with all the games they play.
"But we just try to perform and want to play as much games as possible. That's why we are here."
