Maxim e-hailing platform is now legally operational across Malaysia after receiving full approval from transport authorities, ensuring regulatory compliance

KUALA LUMPUR: The Maxim e-hailing platform is now operating legally nationwide after receiving official approval from the relevant authorities.

Maxim Malaysia director Mohd Hazwan Musley said the company has obtained a valid licence and fully complied with regulatory requirements.

He stated that the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) published an official list of registered e-hailing companies on December 2, 2025. Maxim was included on this list as having a valid permit for Peninsular Malaysia.

“For its operations in Sabah and Sarawak, the company has all the required operational documents from the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board,” he added.

Mohd Hazwan emphasised that publishing the APAD list has dispelled any doubts about Maxim’s licensing status. “We are operating with complete transparency and strict compliance with Malaysia’s transport regulations,” he said.

“Our focus now is to continue improving service quality and safety standards,” he said in a statement.

All Maxim drivers are required to have a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Licence and an E-Hailing Vehicle Permit (EVP). Their vehicles must also pass a Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (PUSPAKOM) inspection to ensure passenger safety.

The company stated it has enhanced transport access, particularly in rural areas. It also provides flexible income opportunities for local drivers and supports the local economy.

Maxim has implemented corporate social responsibility initiatives in education, health and environmental sustainability. The platform also offers inclusive features like special fares for people with disabilities.

It provides travel options for women in selected areas as part of its service offerings.
