Maxim Malaysia Joins Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang 2026, Celebrating Independence with Communities Across Sabah

Maxim Malaysia proudly participated in the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) 2026, organised by the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) Sabah, supporting efforts to bring the spirit of patriotism and National Day celebrations closer to communities across the state.

Maxim’s participation began in Kota Kinabalu on 1 August 2026 and continued throughout the month, travelling across several districts in Sabah including Penampang, Putatan, Papar, Tuaran, Sandakan, Tawau and Lahad Datu, before returning to Kota Kinabalu on 31 August for the final KMJG stop and Merdeka Parade.

Throughout the month-long journey, Maxim was actively involved in the programme alongside JAPEN Sabah, using its vehicles and presence to support the activities and connect with communities at different locations.

As part of its contribution, Maxim also provided RM50 worth of ride promo codes to participants of the KMJG activities, offering them greater convenience and encouraging the use of accessible mobility during the programme.

The initiative reflects Maxim’s commitment to being more than just an e-hailing service provider. As a mobility platform serving communities across Sabah, Maxim sees opportunities such as KMJG as a meaningful way to engage with the public, support local activities and contribute to national celebrations.

“Maxim is proud and happy to be part of Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang 2026 from the beginning of the journey until the Merdeka Parade in Kota Kinabalu. As a mobility provider serving communities across Sabah, we see this as an opportunity to come closer to the people while celebrating the spirit of independence and unity. Our contribution of RM50 ride promo codes to participants is a small way for us to support the journey and share the Merdeka spirit with the communities we serve. We are grateful to JAPEN Sabah for the opportunity and proud to contribute to this meaningful national celebration,” said Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim Malaysia.

The KMJG 2026 programme brought the Jalur Gemilang and the spirit of Merdeka closer to communities through activities held across different districts in Sabah. The programme also emphasised direct engagement with the public, including initiatives such as Langkah Jiwa Merdeka, which encouraged participants to walk alongside communities while spreading the message of patriotism and national unity.

According to Puan Jainisah binti Mohd Noor, Director of the Department of Information Malaysia, Sabah, the involvement of various partners and organisations is important in ensuring that the National Month message reaches a wider segment of society.

“Our challenge in Sabah has always been the vast geographical size of the state. However, through the strategic collaboration with Maxim for KMJG 2026, JAPEN Sabah has successfully reached and engaged with diverse segments of the community. The daily mobility provided by e-hailing vehicles gives us a significant advantage in reaching people at the grassroots level, while also encouraging greater public participation in the celebration of National Month and Sabah Day.”The collaboration also highlights the role that businesses can play in supporting national and community initiatives. For Maxim, participating in KMJG is part of its broader commitment to contributing to the communities where it operates, while continuing to provide accessible transportation and income opportunities for its local driver-partners.

From the first stop in Kota Kinabalu on 1 August to the final gathering and Merdeka Parade in Kota Kinabalu on 31 August, Maxim was proud to journey alongside JAPEN Sabah and communities across the state in celebrating Malaysia’s independence.

The month-long participation reflects Maxim’s belief that the spirit of Merdeka is best celebrated together by connecting people, supporting communities and contributing to the country in meaningful ways.
