Maxis will be partnering with China Mobile International (CMI) to launch CMLink, CMI’s Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) brand, in Malaysia.
The announcement came during the 2025 China Mobile SEA Cooperation Conference in Kuala Lumpur on August 13, and it marks a pretty major milestone for both companies.
CMLink will be running on Maxis’ award-winning network, which means users can expect fast, reliable, and secure mobile services across both 4G and 5G.
And as the 1st MVNO venture in Malaysia, yet backed by its previous establishment in UK, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, and Italy, Malaysians will be able to utilize CMLink’s unique features like ‘1CMN’ (1 Card, Multiple Numbers) and China-Malaysia data sharing, which are beneficial for people like students and professionals constantly moving around the two.
This partnership also builds on the momentum from last year’s MoU between Maxis and CMI, which focused on accelerating 5G efforts and driving digital innovation.
