KALABAKAN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Noraini Abd Ghapur said the more than 2,000 people who attended Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s people’s awakening assembly programme on Saturday may be a good indication that Kalabakan is in the PH bag.
The people presence made the Datuk Sri Najib’s Hall in Kg Merotai Besar a sea of red as party supporters wore red clothes and waved the PH flag.
Also present were former Kalabakan MP Datuk Seri Abdul Ghapur Salleh and his wife, former Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) veterans including former Tanjung Batu assemblywoman Datuk Hamisa Samat, community development leaders (PPM) and supporters.
“For young voters, I am sure they are also good at evaluating the information at their fingertips,” she said.
Meanwhile, Abd Ghapur noted that the people’s support for the PH candidates in Tawau (Datuk Christina Liew) and Kalabakan was strong.
“I have been in charge of Kalabakan for four terms but I lost in GE14 ... now Anwar asked me to support these two candidates.
“Kalabakan still has many poor houses, poor people and many infrastructure facilities are not available,” he said.
