Maybank 2 Cards Premier Reserve American Express cardholders will see their TreatsPoints earning rates revised from 1 June 2026, with overseas spend rewards doubling and dining rewards more than doubling under the updated benefits structure.

The Revised Earning Rates

Overseas spending sees the largest increase, with the earning rate doubling from 5X to 10X TreatsPoints for every RM1 spent. Dining spend, which covers restaurants as well as food and beverage establishments, rises from 2X to 5X TreatsPoints per RM1 spent locally.

*Overseas Spend on Professional Services & Trading will be excluded effective 1 June 2026.

Utilities, education, EzyPay, and insurance transactions continue to earn 1X TreatsPoints per RM1 spent. Transactions involving government bodies, JomPay, FPX, e-wallet reloads, and MyCDD remain ineligible for TreatsPoints. The benefits for the Maybank 2 Cards Visa Infinite remain unchanged.

Making The Most Of The New Rates

For frequent travellers, the doubling of overseas TreatsPoints is the most directly relevant change. TreatsPoints can be converted to air miles with airlines including Malaysia Airlines Enrich, Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, and AirAsia, making the higher earn rate useful for those accumulating miles for redemption.

For cardholders who primarily use the card for local dining, the earning rate rises from 2X to 5X TreatsPoints per RM1, more than doubling what cardholders currently earn in this category.
