Maybank has announced that it has replaced MSOS Code (SMS One-Time Password) with Secure2u authorisation for all Maybank Cards online transactions. The bank says this has been in effect since 6 March 2025, and is part of ongoing efforts to enhance security of online transactions.

To avoid any interruptions, Maybank urges customers to download the MAE App and activate Secure2u. The MAE App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei AppGallery.

To activate Secure2u, simply follow the steps below:

  • Step 1: Tap ‘Secure2u’ under ‘Quick Actions’
  • Step 2: Complete the registration process
  • Step 3: Activate Secure2u at the nearest Maybank ATM

Do note that once you activate Secure2u at the ATM, there is a minimum 12-hour cooling period before you will be able to use Secure2u to approve transactions.
