"Maybe she went to repair her phone," M'sians share hilarious reactions to seeing Billie Eilish at Sungei Wang Plaza. Full story here!

In just a few short hours, the Bukit Jalil National Stadium will be awash with the thrumming excitement and energy from its first major live entertainment act since the pandemic began two years ago, with American pop superstar Billie Eilish set to take the stage as part of her ‘Happier Than Ever‘ world tour.

The 20-year-old charted her meteoric rise to fame from writing songs with her brother, FINNEAS, who is also a singer-songwriter, and uploading them to online audio distribution platform SoundCloud. She first saw success with her 2015 single ‘Ocean Eyes‘, before tearing up the music scene with the subsequent success of her 2019 studio album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’, which featured her biggest hit single, ‘Bad Guy‘.

Billie Eilish spotted yesterday at Sungei Wang Plaza

And while fans have been excitedly counting the days, hours, and minutes to see her perform up-close in-person, some unsuspecting KLites have managed to spot the star yesterday (August 17th 2022) at Sungei Wang Plaza. It was believed that both Billie and her brother, FINNEAS, had been there to give the local indoor drift kart circuit, Blastacars, a try before her concert.

Despite her sheer star power, Billie appeared to be comfortably at ease as she checked out the go-karts, with other mall patrons seemingly oblivious to her presence. In fact, there were barely any fans or members of the paparazzi seen as she was being escorted out from the mall by a small security team into her car, save for an employee from Sungei Wang Plaza who managed to capture the moment on video.

The clip, which was shared to the mall’s TikTok account, has since gone viral across social media with many netizens surprised to see Billie at Sungei Wang, as opposed to the city’s glitzier locales such as Pavilion or KLCC. However, some have pointed out that this may have been by design, in order to prevent her from being mobbed by fans.

“All the people saying why sungei wang, should go to more popular mall. because that mall is empty, that’s why she’s there”
