The posts of Mayor in the municipal corporations of Solan, Palampur, Mandi, and Dharamsala will be un-reserved for a term of five years. The state government issued a notification to this effect on Wednesday.
All these MCs went to polls just a few days back. The BJP won in Solan, Mandi and Dharamsala, while the Congress emerged victorious in Palampur. Following the setback, the Congress has formed committees to assess reasons behind its three-district defeat.
