Kota Kinabalu: Mayor Datuk Norhaliza Awang Alip donated a mobile PA System on the spot to Tadika Titian Murni when she found that the one at the kindergarten was faulty.
She was attending the Sports Day and Parents’ Day of the kindergarten held at the KK Community Hall.
Tadika Titian Murni provides Day Care Services to 35 children, some of whom are autistic and hyperactive. Such children are usually very active and challenging to manage by the parents at home.
“By giving them day care, they get to study and are provided with social skills development.
“Some of them entered the school without knowing how to speak and walk but have developed speaking skills and become socially interactive after some time,” a spokesman said.
The Mayor went round greeting the children and their parents some of whom were visibly touched and encouraged.
Present was Chairman of the kindergarten, Puan Khisiah Sion Abdul Mah. Also present to support the progarmme was a team from the Grace Charity Fund set up under the Grace Chapel Chinese led by Chairman Datuk Nancy Ho, Grace Chapel’s Deacon Lai Su Yong, Pastor Pang Lee Hang and Committee Member, Chin Vui Yin.
They donated a Rice Cooker with a capacity for the 35 children and 9 teachers.
