PETALING JAYA: Terengganu Mentri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has apologised for not being “present” during the crucial moments of the massive floods that have struck the state.

He stressed that no excuses can justify his absence, nor fix the current situation.

“I understand that whatever I say now will not mean anything.

“However, I want to put it on record that I was monitoring the flood situation and I decided to travel overseas when there were signs that the floods were receding (before the floods peaked later on),“ he said during a press conference earlier today.

Earlier this week, Samsuri came under fire with some claiming that he made a trip with his family to New Zealand when Terengganu was hit by massive floods.
