KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has called on members of the public who have evidence related to misconduct concerning the gas pipeline fire incident along Jalan Putra Harmoni in Putra Heights.

He said this step is to assist the authorities in conducting a thorough investigation into the true cause of the gas leak and fire, which resulted in extensive property damage to the residents.

“The state government, including the local authorities, is fully committed to cooperating in this investigation.

“The priority for both the state government and the Federal government is the safety, welfare, and comfort of all affected residents,” he said in a statement today.

Yesterday, Amirudin said an initial report on the incident would be presented within 72 hours.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the police will investigate claims that excavation work was the cause of the fire.
