SHAH ALAM, Jan 29 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today attended the Chinese New Year open house held by state executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato’ Ng Suee Lim in Seksyen 7 here today.
The Menteri Besar arrived at 10am in a red samfoo, with his wife Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad.
He spent about an hour mingling with guests of all races, posing for photos and enjoying the feast.

When met, Amirudin said he hopes the Year of the Snake brings much wealth and prosperity to Selangor residents.
“To all Selangor residents especially, I wish you a Happy Chinese New Year, Xin Nian Kuai Le, Gong Xi Fa Cai.
“May this year bring strength, joy, and prosperity to Selangor,” he told reporters.
Other guests of note at the open house were ex-state mufti Datuk Mohd Tamyes Abd Wahid, state executive councillor for public health and environment Jamaliah Jamaluddin, state executive councillor for rural development and unity Datuk Rizam Ismail, state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu, state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari, and state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim.
