One of the biggest fears people have this Ramadhan is that crowded bazaars may cause further outbreak of the Covid-19 virus and its various variants.
Thankfully, the PJ City Council has taken the initiative to manage the amount of people entering bazaars around Petaling Jaya with a crowd control system.
Astro Awani journalist, Fareez Azman, took to his Twitter page to showcase the system in action.
He wrote, “MBPJ is using Crowd Controlled System (CCS) to manage the entry of visitors at the Ramadhan bazaars in KJ (Kelana Jaya) and Kota Damansara.”
The advanced system insists that visitors wait to enter when the capacity limit of the bazaar is full, by sounding an alarm when the capacity is over its limit.
It also showcases how many people are inside the bazaar, how many people are exiting and how many can enter, all in real time! There’s even a traffic light that informs people if they can enter or if they should wait.
“When the capacity is full, warnings will sound. Cameras and sensors will record every movement in and out and the number of visitors shown in real time,” he explained.
In Fareez’s video, visitors can be seen patiently waiting to enter the bazaar as they monitor the system.
He has since also praised MBPJ for their initiative in installing the system to ensure visitors remain safe while visiting the bazaars.
