MBSB Bank has introduced Global Easy Transfer (GET), a new international remittance service built in partnership with Wise. The launch makes MBSB Bank the first bank in Malaysia to integrate Wise Platform into its retail banking app, M Journey.
GET is designed to address long-standing issues faced by Malaysians when sending money overseas, such as hidden fees, slow delivery times, and unclear exchange rates. With the service, customers can now transfer funds in 12 currencies, including the US dollar, British pound, euro, Singapore dollar, Indonesian rupiah, and Australian dollar.
Transparent and faster transactions
Through the M Journey app, customers can track transactions in real time, with transfers arriving instantly or within the same day depending on the destination. Pricing is transparent, with no hidden markups. During its introductory phase, GET is also waiving transfer fees.
For families, professionals, and businesses, the service offers higher daily transfer limits of up to RM100,000. This makes it more convenient for purposes such as tuition payments, accommodation fees, and cross-border business needs.
Supporting Malaysian families and businesses
According to Bank Negara Malaysia, more than RM40 billion was remitted abroad in 2024, much of it by parents supporting children overseas and professionals managing international obligations. With an estimated 55,000 Malaysians currently studying abroad, reliable remittance services are essential.
MBSB Bank Group CEO, Rafe Haneef, said the service gives customers the confidence of knowing exactly how much money will arrive and when. He described it as an example of “customer-first innovation”.
Available now on M Journey
Global Easy Transfer is now available in the M Journey app for existing customers. New users can open an account online to access the service immediately. With real-time tracking, transparent pricing, and competitive exchange rates, GET aims to simplify how Malaysians send money abroad.
