SHAH ALAM, May 5 — The Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) Special Action Squad (Pantas) has 65 members prepared at all times to face natural disasters, given the ongoing uncertain weather conditions.

Subang Jaya Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said they will be mobilised should disasters or incidents arise, like a flood, a landslide, or fallen trees.

“They are always prepared, especially when it rains. If something bad happens, they would be the first on-site,” he told SelangorKini.

Meanwhile, Mohd Fauzi said he is focusing on three locations which experience frequent flooding. They include USJ 8, Kampung Tengah, and the area near the IOI Mall Shopping Centre.

“Flash floods occur there frequently for several hours. As such, frequent monitoring is necessary, so no major floods can affect the population.

“Asides from monitoring, we also ensure the drainage system runs smoothly, especially when it comes to garbage,” he said.
