MCA President Wee Ka Siong has voiced his reservations about supporting DAP's campaign in the upcoming Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election. His objections stem from the harsh criticisms and insults the DAP has directed at MCA in the past.

In a Facebook video, Wee addressed recent comments from DAP Secretary-General Loke Siew Fook. He questioned, “After bad-mouthing and attacking MCA, now you want us to help with your campaign? Do you think we lack dignity or feelings?”

Wee emphasized that he would not stand by silently while his party members were hurt by DAP's disrespectful language. He underscored the importance of maintaining MCA's dignity and integrity.

In his video, Wee included excerpts from a recent episode of the *Keluar Sekejap* podcast, where Loke expressed his disapproval of MCA, calling it a "towkay" party that overlooked the interests of the Chinese community.

Wee, who also serves as Ayer Hitam MP, refuted the accusations, stating that MCA is neither "two-faced nor hypocritical." He challenged DAP to consider how it would feel if such treatment was aimed at its own party.

The MCA president reminded the party's partners in Barisan Nasional (BN) of the past criticism from DAP, which accused MCA of "colluding with thieves" and betraying the Chinese community. Wee questioned whether he should remain silent in the face of ongoing allegations and insults from DAP.

Wee also brought up the past struggles MCA faced, such as the party being branded as a traitor to the Chinese community due to its failure to secure recognition for the Unified Examination Certificate and its support of the Bumiputera quota system.

He expressed frustration over DAP's continued accusations against MCA and questioned whether he should simply tolerate it as party president.

On Friday, MCA announced its decision not to campaign for any non-BN candidate. As for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election scheduled for May 11, Pakatan Harapan is still deciding on a candidate.

The Selangor state assembly constituency has been represented by an ethnic Chinese assemblyman since 2004. The previous incumbent was Lee Kee Hiong of DAP, who recently passed away from cancer.

With MCA's decision to refrain from campaigning for non-BN candidates, the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is heating up. The choice of Pakatan Harapan's candidate is still under discussion, leaving the competition's outcome uncertain.

The by-election is seen as a key moment for both MCA and DAP, potentially impacting their political influence in the region. MCA's stance demonstrates its resolve to maintain its integrity and independence from DAP's past criticisms.

Observers will be closely watching how the political landscape evolves as MCA and DAP navigate this tense situation and voters cast their ballots on May 11.
