Former Crystal Palace captain Paddy McCarthy will be given a crack at being the club's permanent manager.
The former defender, who is presently their under-21s coach, has been drafted as caretaker after the sacking of Patrick Vieira.
Palace take on Arsenal in the Premier League at the weekend, with McCarthy in charge.
Per The Mail, chairman Steve Parish will not rush into a decision about an interim or permanent coach.
If McCarthy impresses, he could get the role until the end of the season.
Former boss Roy Hodgson is one of many being linked to the job at present.
