KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Community Care Foundation (MCCF) has condemned a recent incident involving a DJ and crew at Era FM, who were seen mocking the Thaipusam festival in a widely circulated video today.

“We are deeply disturbed by the recent incident involving the DJ and crew at Era FM, who were seen making light of the Thaipusam festival.

"Thaipusam is a sacred religious observance for many, and such actions are disrespectful and harmful to the Tamil community and people of faith," said MCCF Deputy Chairman Jeevithan P. Ganasan.

The foundation demanded immediate action, calling for the DJ responsible to be terminated and for crew members involved to be suspended.

"We call for charges to be filed under the Sedition Act (3R), as this goes beyond simple misconduct and threatens national harmony," Jeevithan added.

The MCCF emphasized the need for respect, inclusivity, and responsibility within the media industry, urging organizations to ensure actions like these do not go unpunished.
