TNT Sports commentator Ally McCoist was furious with VAR in the Champions League last night.
McCoist was in the studio for Newcastle United's away game against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
While the Magpies were 1-0 up for long parts of the game, they had to settle for a draw after a controversial late PSG penalty was scored by Kylian Mbappe.
On the handball decision against Tino Livramento, McCoist stated: "Well Newcastle will be devastated and so will I.
"I think his hand is slightly away from his body and I hope I'm wrong. Normally this [the referee checking the monitor] isn't a good sign. That's come off his chest! No chance! No chance, no! [Penalty given] That is a shambles!
"Honestly, that's not on. It hits his chest, goes off his left elbow. If that's a penalty, we may as well give the game up! It's never a penalty, we've been singing his praises all night. If he's the best ref in the business, how has he given that?! There is no way that that penalty kick should be given.
"That's not on, I feel for Eddie Howe and those players, I genuinely do. It's bordering on robbery, it really is. They've worked their socks off, they've defended so well, Pope has been excellent and that's a really poor decision from an official that has been excellent."
