McDonald’s Happy Meal will make ARMYs (aka BTS fans) in Malaysia smile gleefully as the fast food giant will launch BTS TinyTAN Happy Meal sets this year. Here’s what we know about the collaboration so far.
Announced earlier on 19 August 2025, McDonald’s Global took to their Instagram account to reveal an upcoming collaboration with worldwide K-pop phenomenon BTS.
Featuring BTS’s TinyTAN, these cute fictional characters are expected to appear as toy figurines that come with every McDonald’s Happy Meal purchase. There will only be one toy per Happy Meal.
There will be two phases to the BTS TinyTAN Happy Meal collaboration. The first phase, named “Throwback Edition”, will spotlight the BTS TinyTAN characters in the 2021 BTS Meal promotional outfits from the K-pop group’s previous collaboration with McDonald’s. The following “Encore Edition” phase will see the characters in contemporary designs related to this current partnership.
The campaign will reportedly include interactive functions, like a TinyTan Power Up game, through a QR code provided on each Happy Meal box.
Further details, like exact character designs and a weekly release schedule, are expected to be available in the coming weeks leading up to this launch. Stay tuned for more details.
Singapore is one of the participating countries in the list that will offer the BTS TinyTAN Happy Meal. More than 60 countries will have this BTS TinyTAN-themed Happy Meal, including neighbouring countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
“Opening the Magic Door to *my heart* TinyTAN Happy Meal out 9.3,” said the caption on the post.
While the image states “9.3” or September 3, there’s no confirmed indication if the BTS TinyTAN Happy Meal collaboration will launch on this day in Singapore. “Check with your local McDonald’s for launch date,” as described in the same post.
All TinyTAN characters are based on the BTS members – consisting of RM, Jin, Jungkook, V, Suga, J-hope, Jimin – and created by Big Hit Music, which launched in October 2019.
The hitmakers behind ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Butter’ previously collaborated with McDonald’s in May 2021 to offer a limited-time BTS meal, which was launched worldwide. This set consists of Chicken McNuggets, fries, a chosen drink, and limited-edition Sweet Chilli and Cajun dipping sauces in purple-hued packaging.
