THE Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has officially commenced the third cohort of its highly regarded Accelerated Leadership Programme Series (ALPs), reinforcing its ongoing commitment to cultivating a robust leadership pipeline capable of meeting the challenges of the future.

The programme engages 40 officers identified as High Potential (HiPo) through MCMC’s structured leadership and talent development framework.

Designed to prepare emerging leaders for expanded roles and responsibilities, the initiative seeks to build capabilities that are particularly relevant in a digital and artificial intelligence-driven regulatory landscape.

“The Accelerated Leadership Programme Series is an integral component of our Leadership Continuum,” said MCMC in a statement. “It aims to develop future-ready talents, strengthen leadership bench capacity, and equip officers to lead organisational transformation in the digital and AI era while fostering a high-performance culture and structured career progression within the Commission.”

Participants in the programme will benefit from an MBA-level collaboration with the Faculty of Business and Economics at Universiti Malaya, combining academic rigor with applied leadership development.

Complementing this academic component, the officers will also undertake a professional-level Artificial Intelligence (AI) certification from the United States Artificial Intelligence Institute (USAII®), a globally recognised body, to enhance practical digital and AI competencies aligned with MCMC’s regulatory and developmental mandate.

The programme’s structured learning journey includes MBA coursework, a capstone project, leadership masterclasses, executive coaching, and experiential learning modules.

Officers will also be tasked with designing and implementing innovation initiatives and will represent MCMC in an international competition, gaining exposure to global best practices, emerging trends, and cross-border perspectives.

Through the ALPs, MCMC aims to ensure the Commission remains agile and effective, capable of addressing future regulatory, industry, and technological challenges.

“This initiative underscores our long-term commitment to systematic leadership development, talent progression, and organisational readiness,” the statement added.
