KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is investigating a viral video showing a content creator and friends giving leftover KFC bones to a homeless man and later feeding the meat to a dog, calling it unethical and degrading.
The commission warned that exploiting the less fortunate for views normalises inhumane behaviour and may be punishable under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, with fines up to RM500,000 or two years’ jail.
The now-deleted clip sparked public outrage. The creator later apologised, claiming it was staged and the man received a proper meal, but many said the video remained offensive.
