KUALA LUMPUR – A total of RM120 million has been allocated to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to enhance internet accessibility in public institutions.

When tabling Budget 2025 in the Dewan Rakyat today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (Tambun-PH) said that the allocation will primarily be used to improve internet access in universities, schools and military camps.

Anwar, who is also the finance minister, added that MCMC will allocate RM100 million over five years to strengthen the functions of National Information Dissemination Centres across the nation, serving as community platforms aimed at increasing incomes through online entrepreneurship. – October 18, 2024
