Taking to Twitter, netizen @MohamadYusofBi6 shared a story of how this group of Malaysian doctors studying in Turkiye, helped build a Malaysian Emergency hospital in Adiyaman, Turkiye.
In a news report, it was understood that the healthcare facility in Adiyaman was no longer safe for operation, hence the Malaysian army with coordination from Turkiye’s disaster management agency, help set up a Malaysian hospital there.
“Let’s take you inside one of the tents. It is important to note that this is not just a place for earthquake victims, but it also serves the entire town of 9,000 people and another 6,000 in neighbouring towns as well.”
“There are over 100 Malaysian doctors here from the Malaysian military with 12 specialists, a radiology department, there’s an anesthetist, there is maternity care too… And there’s even a dentistry unit.”
“So what this unit is essentially doing is serving not only earthquake victims but those affected by the earthquake.”
The field hospital is expected to spend about six weeks in Turkiye and may be extended if necessary. It is currently located in Celikhan, 152km away from Gaziantep, which is the worst affected area.
