
Kota Kinabalu: The media must continue to play its role as an educator of the people, especially in widely disseminating facts so that no one is easily influenced by deception, slander and propaganda from irresponsible parties.
Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Women’s Chief, Datuk Redonah Bahanda said in today’s society which pursues the trend of development, progress and borderless sources of information, delivering verified information has become increasingly critical and challenging.

“The media is able to educate the people through the dissemination of truth, facts and benefits to help shape the life of a perfect society,” she said at an appreciation luncheon with the media at a hotel on Tuesday.

Redonah said the media is complementary to a society that is advanced through its role as an information medium either directly or indirectly.

“It is certain that it will not be possible to implement it without the help and support of all parties, including the media,” she said.
