Pakistan has joined the United States and Iran in signalling progress in weeks-long negotiations over an end to the war, with Islamabad - a mediator in the talks - saying on Friday that they are bearing fruit.
Following a phone conversation with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that "both sides welcomed the progress achieved through sustained diplomatic engagement."
They further "expressed hope that these efforts will soon lead to a durable understanding and peaceful resolution," his office posted on X.
Messages between the warring parties have repeatedly been exchanged via Islamabad in recent weeks. In April, US and Iranian representatives met in the Pakistani capital.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump called off the threat of renewed strikes against Iran and spoke of an imminent deal. Tehran's response was cautious, but it said a negotiating text was largely finalized.
