
KPop Demon Hunters is taking over the world with its charming storytelling, top-notch animation, and infectious musical numbers. The whole world is obsessed with HUNTR/X and Saja Boys. Within just two days of its release, the movie ranked No. 1 globally, topping the charts in 26 countries while ranking in the top 10 in 93 others. It’s safe to say that it’s one of Netflix’s best animated productions yet. But, let’s get to know the voices behind the animated characters. Here are all the voice actors and singers behind KPop Demon Hunters.
The animated musical is voiced by many talented actors and musicians including some K-pop and K-drama juggernauts. The action fantasy musical currently has a 96 per cent rating, soaring high for any Netflix original release. The movie revolves around a girl group HUNTR/X, consisting of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who are secretly demon hunters and trying to bring peace and harmony to the world with their music by keeping their fans happy and turning the Honmoon golden. But trouble arises when demon king Gwi-ma sends a quintet boy band Saja Boys made of their leader Jinu, Abbs, Romance, Baby, and Mystery to steal their fans.
Music obviously plays a critical role in the movie, featuring some of the biggest names in the K-pop industry. Producers such as Teddy Park of THEBLACKLABEL, Grammy winner Lindgren who has collaborated with BTS, Twice, Dua Lipa and more, Grammy-nominated songwriter Stephen Kirk, and Ian Eisendrath whose work spans Broadway and popular TV shows all contributed to the soundtrack of the film. And the songs are now charting on the global charts. So, let’s take a look at the voices behind the animations that brought the movie to life.

Rumi: Arden Cho (speaking voice) and EJAE (vocals)
Rumi is the confident, fearless, and charismatic leader of HUNTR/X. Her mother was also a demon hunter, so she’s carrying her mother’s legacy and trying to restore peace in the world by turning the Honmoon golden. She protects her fans with all her might all while the pain of her secret breaks her apart.

Rumi’s character has multiple layers, and it was brought to life with the voice of Arden Cho who rose to fame by playing Kira Yukimura in Teen Wolf. She has also acted in Chicago Med, Stuck, The Honor List, and more.

While Cho did the dialogues for Rumi, EJAE lent her singing voice for her vocals. The singer songwriter is one of the top vocal producers/arrangers who has worked with groups like Red Velvet, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM and aespa.
Mira: May Hong (speaking voice) and Audrey Nuna (vocals)
Mira is the visual and lead dancer of HUNTR/X. Apparently, she is the black sheep of her family. She was tagged as the ‘problem child’ because of her rebellious nature, but proved herself through her talent and music. She is blatantly honest, spirited, and not afraid to challenge the norms. However, she cares deeply for her fans and her bandmates.

South Korean American model and actress May Hong is the voice actor for Mira. As a model, she has walked for many prestigious designers including Eckhaus Latta, Marc Jacobs, and Gucci while her acting credits include roles in High Maintenance, Hacks, and Tales of the City.

American R&B singer and rapper Audrey Chu, who is better known as her stage name Audrey Nuna, sang the parts of Mira in the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack. She is best known for her singles “Damn Right” and “Comic Sans”.
Zoey: Ji-young Yoo (speaking voice) and Rei Ami (vocals)
Zoey is HUNTR/X’s rapper, lyricist, and maknae (the youngest member). She grew up in the USA and has a tendency to people-please others to make herself more likable. She loves her friends, but often feels out of place and tries to add value to their lives so they would like her more.

American actress SunHee Seo, known professionally as Ji-young Yoo is the voice actor for Zoey. She made her debut in 2021 with the Netflix comedy-drama film Moxie. She has also appeared on Expats, Smoking Tigers, and Until Dawn. Yoo also voiced the English dub for Eun-yu in the first season of the thriller K-drama Sweet Home.

Seoul born American singer-songwriter and rapper Sarah Yeeun Lee, known professionally as Rei Ami provided the vocals for Zoey in the soundtrack. The genre-blending artist released her debut studio album, Foil in 2021. She is best known for the TikTok viral song “Freak,” with Sub Urban.
Jinu: Ahn Hyo-seop (speaking voice) and Andrew Choi (vocals)
Next up, we have the Saja Boys. First, we have the charming leader, the 400-year old Jinu. He initially comes up with the plan of creating a demon boy band to steal the fanbase of HUNTR/X and stop the Honmoon from turning golden in exchange for getting rid of his memories from when he was a human, but betrayed his family for money and fame.

Korean Canadian actor and singer Ahn Hyo-seop takes up his first voice acting role in KPop Demon Hunters as Jinu. The prominent actor has played the lead in many K-dramas including Abyss, Dr. Romantic, Lovers of the Red Sky, and A Time Called You. And his role as Kang Tae-moo in the romantic-comedy Business Proposal brought him international success. He also sang the initial intro song about Gwi-ma as Jinu in his own voice.

While Ahn Hyo-seop is the voice actor behind the male lead Jinu, Andrew Choi is the singer who gave him his melodious singing voice. He won third place in SBS’s K-pop Star Season 2. Other than his own songs, Choi has also written songs performed by SHINee, EXO, and more.
Mystery Saja: Alan Lee (speaking voice) and Kevin Woo (vocals)

Voice actor Alan Lee plays Mystery Saja, whose face is hidden by his long grey hair the whole movie. He has lent his voice to roles for many animated hits, including Past Lives, Solo Leveling, The First Slam Dunk, One Piece, and more.

Mystery’s vocals are provided by the social media star and K-pop singer Kevin Woo. Woo first debuted as a member of a boy group XING in 2006. After leaving the group two years later, he re-debuted as a member of U-KISS in 2008. After U-KISS he debuted as a soloist in 2018. In 2024, he starred in a short film called Seoul Switch.
Romance Saja: Joel Kim Booster (speaking voice) and samUIL Lee (vocals)

The pink haired Romance Saja is voiced by Joel Kim Booster. The American actor, comedian, producer, and writer is a multi-talented entertainer who also co-produced and wrote for Big Mouth and The Other Two. His acting credits include Shrill, Search Party, and Sunnyside. Interestingly, he also lent his voice to several other characters in KPop Demon Hunters like Variety Show Host 2 and Idol Host.
Singer-Songwriter samUIL Lee gives Romance his singing voice. He has worked with many K-pop artists in his career including Seventeen, RIIZE, Peniel of BTOB, and NCT Dream.
Abby Saja: Sungwon Cho (speaking voice) and Neckwav (vocals)

Abby or Abs, the Saja Boys member with abs, is voiced by YouTuber and professional voice actor Sungwon Cho. His acting credits include many animated hits like Craig of the Creek, One Piece, and Sakamoto Days.
Neckwav is a singer, composer, and lyricist based in Seoul, South Korea.
Baby Saja: Danny Chung (vocals)

Baby Saja, the maknae of Saja Boys doesn’t have any speaking lines. However, his low rapping voice has caught the attention of all the fans. Danny Chung, a Korean American rapper and songwriter who is under THEBLACKLABEL lent his voice to the character. Chung has also penned songs for other artists like BLACKPINK, CL, and Somi.
Celine: Yunjin Kim (speaking voice) and Lea Salonga (vocals)

Celine is a former demon hunter who was in a band called Sunlight Sisters with Rumi’s mother. She trained Rumi, Mira, and Zoey in both music and demon-hunting. She also acted like an adoptive mother to Rumi after her mother’s passing.
Yunjin Kim voiced the character of Celine. The South Korean American actress is best known for her role in Korean movie Shiri and American television series Lost.
Celine’s singing voice comes courtesy of highly acclaimed Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga. She has also provided vocals for Disney princesses Jasmine in Aladdin and Mulan in Mulan.
Bobby: Ken Jeong

Bobby, HUNTR/X’s agent, loyal manager and friend, is unaware of the girls’ hunter status. However, he has always wished for the best for them. He is voiced by comedian-actor Ken Jeong, who has starred in many comedy movies and shows like the Hangover series, Dr. Ken, and Crazy Rich Asians.
Gwi-ma: Lee Byung-hun

The ruthless and manipulative Demon king Gwi-ma, who uses his power to emotionally torture other demons is voiced by Squid Game actor Lee Byung-hun. The prolific actor has also starred in Joint Security Area, A Bittersweet Life, The Good, the Bad, the Weird, I Saw the Devil, Masquerade, and more.
