A mega awareness camp was organised under the leadership of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panipat, on Tuesday on the court premises. During the event, various departments of the district informed the general public about their respective services and government welfare schemes.

On behalf of the Fire Department, Fire Officer Gurmail Singh briefed the attendees about the functioning of the department. He explained that the Fire Department was not only responsible for extinguishing fires but also played a vital role in providing rescue and emergency services during emergencies.

During the programme, 10 students from Government ITI and approximately 40 students from Asian Fire College, Panipat, participated actively. The students demonstrated the “Fireman lift” technique, through which a single firefighter could safely rescue and evacuate an injured or helpless person. This demonstration was presented before Vani Gopal Sharma, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, DLSA.

In addition, the students of Fire College and ITI gave practical demonstrations of one-hand sheet bend, two-hand sheet bend, three-hand sheet bend, and four-hand sheet bend rescue techniques.

These methods enable firefighters to safely rescue and carry even a heavy casualty. The students also demonstrated the use of a hydraulic cutter, showing how windows, doors, and other obstructions can be cut and opened within seconds during accidents to facilitate prompt rescue operations.

District and Sessions Judge Vani Gopal Sharma inspected the Fire Department’s fire tenders and obtained detailed information regarding their functioning and operational systems. She appreciated the services rendered by the Fire Department, the dedication of its personnel and the excellent demonstrations performed by the students of Asian Fire College and Government ITI.

On the occasion, Varsha Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, was also present. From the Fire Department, Sumit, Sub Fire Officer, Amit Goswami, Vinod Saini, Praveen Jangra, and Praveen Kumar were present.
