Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson’s relationship brought together two major worlds. The rapper, who attracts more than 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify, had been dating the four-time NBA champion since July 2025.
Their pairing quickly became a notable crossover between music and basketball. It drew attention from both industries, with fans closely following their appearances and public moments together.
However, that high-profile relationship has now come to an abrupt end. Megan confirmed the breakup last Saturday, turning the split into a major talking point across entertainment and sports.
Megan Thee Stallion publicly ends relationship with Klay Thompson

The 31-year-old rapper announced they were no longer together in a statement on Saturday. She accused Thompson of cheating and made her position clear with a series of direct remarks.
She told TMZ: “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Megan also wrote on Instagram: “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got “cold feet.”
“Holding you down through all your horrible mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season. Now, you don’t know if you can be “monogamous”???? B––, I need a real break after this one .. bye y’all”
Difficult Mavericks season adds context to split
Megan’s comments referenced Thompson’s behaviour during the NBA season. She suggested his mood swings and treatment towards her were linked to his struggles on the court.
This season, the 36-year-old endured the lowest statistical output of his NBA career. According to SofaScore, he averaged 11.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game during that span.
Those numbers fell below his previous career lows from his rookie campaign in 2011-12. He had then averaged 12.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
