Megawide Construction Corp., through its engineering, procurement and construction unit, has completed the renovation of the Ronald McDonald House Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Bacoor City, Cavite as part of its community development efforts.
The listed infrastructure company said the facility was formally turned over on June 10 in collaboration with Megawide Foundation and in partnership with McDonald's Philippines and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Philippines.
"We play an important role in supporting community-focused projects like RMHC,” Megawide Construction Group Head for Operations Jules Ronquillo said.
“As we build critical infrastructure and other large-scale developments, we also prioritize initiatives like this, where we become vehicles for change, uplifting lives through education," she added.
Megawide Foundation President Teresa Saavedra said the project reflected the organization's commitment to early childhood education through partnerships with local stakeholders.
McDonald's Philippines President and CEO Kenneth Yang, who also serves as RMHC president, said the learning center has been supporting children in the community for the past 15 years.
"As we reopen its doors, we are renewing our commitment to ensuring that future generations of children have access to safe, nurturing and engaging learning environments," Yang said.
The project forms part of the Foundation's ECOnstruction Program, which combines Megawide's engineering expertise and employee volunteerism to develop community infrastructure projects.
Megawide said it carried out both interior and exterior renovation works on the learning center to provide a safer and more conducive environment for young learners.
Megawide’s share price rose by 20 centavos to close at P3.75 each on Tuesday.
