ANDREW Tan-led Megaworld Corp. raised its cash dividend by 25 percent to a record P3.8 billion, increasing its payout to shareholders while maintaining a stronger balance sheet.
The property developer declared a cash dividend of P0.11733697 per share, up from P0.09395845 in August 2025. It will be paid on Sept. 9 to stockholders of record as of Aug. 27.“This record dividend reflects Megaworld’s continued growth and our commitment to share more of the value we create with our shareholders,” Megaworld Chief Finance Officer Francisco Canuto said.The dividend declaration is equivalent to 18 percent of Megaworld’s P21.0-billion net income attributable to the parent in 2025, higher than the 16-percent payout ratio a year earlier.Megaworld has increased its cash dividend annually for the past three years, with the payout compounding at 22 percent per year.The dividend carries a yield of 5.2 percent based on the company’s closing share price of P2.27 on Aug. 11.The company said the growing contribution of recurring income to its earnings mix provides greater stability and visibility to cash flows, supporting its capacity to increase dividends while continuing to invest in growth.Megaworld’s cash position stood at P22.8 billion at the end of June, up from P20.8 billion at the end of 2025.Its net debt-to-equity ratio also improved to 0.24 times from 0.27 times, marking a second consecutive year of deleveraging.Canuto said Megaworld’s recurring income platform and balance sheet would support further increases in shareholder returns while allowing the company to continue investing in its expansion.Megaworld is targeting 2 million square meters of office gross leasable area (GLA) and 1 million square meters of retail GLA by 2030, bringing its total leasing portfolio to 3 million square meters.Megaworld shares closed unchanged at P2.30 each on Thursday.
