Melaka’s KPDN confirms adequate diesel stock and smooth sales at petrol stations following the RM2.15 per litre price announcement.

MELAKA: The Melaka branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has given assurance that there is sufficient diesel supply for the implementation of the BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) programme in the state.

Its director Dr Mohd Hazimin Jamaludin said monitoring conducted by the department yesterday found that diesel purchasing at petrol stations remained smooth, with no congestion following the government’s announcement of the RM2.15 per litre price.

“Our checks show that diesel stock is currently sufficient to meet domestic needs, particularly as Melaka is a frequent destination for tourists.

“So far, we have not received any complaints, and KPDN continues to ensure that officers are always on the ground to assist and guide consumers so that the process runs smoothly,” he said after conducting an inspection of diesel sales at a petrol station in Klebang here today.

Mohd Hazimin cautioned that strict action would be taken against any parties found misappropriating subsidised fuel.

“We hope there will be no more misappropriation of subsidised goods or fuel from now on, particularly here,” he said.

Eligible Malaysians began enjoying fuel cost savings today as the early access phase of the BUDI Diesel programme commenced yesterday, with the purchase of subsidised diesel at petrol stations across Peninsular Malaysia proceeding smoothly.

Under the early access phase in Peninsular Malaysia, subsidised diesel is sold at RM2.15 per litre using MyKad verification at participating petrol stations. The programme will be fully rolled out nationwide on July 1, with eligible Malaysians able to purchase subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre.
