KENINGAU: A member of an Indonesian geologists team conducting research at the Sapulut Forest Reserve suffocated after being stung by bees and was rescued out of the area Wednesday.

The man who had difficulty continuing his journey out of the forest reserve was found by a rescue team three kilometres from the entrance to the Sapulut Forest Reserve Pinangah at 10.30am.

The 24-year-old was among a five-man team conducting coal studies. His four colleagues aged 25 to 33 were unscathed.

The man was taken by an ambulance to the Nabawan Health Clinic for follow-up treatment.
